The challenge
Today, monitoring consumption across Galère’s construction sites involved a significant amount of manual work. Meter readings had to be collected and followed up across individual sites, making it difficult to maintain a clear, central overview as the number of installations and worksites grew.
The solution needed to provide:
- real-time insight into connected installations and consumption;
- central monitoring of site data;
- greater control over lighting;
- automation of recurring actions;
- a flexible setup that could grow as installations were added or changed.
The challenge is not to collect more data, but to make existing data easier to access, understand and use.
Our solution
Arcsom developed an integrated IoT solution built around the Kheiron Service Platform, Arcsom’s platform for connecting assets, processing and visualising their data, and using that data for monitoring and automation.
Rather than managing each installation separately, Kheiron brings site data, visualisation and automation together in one digital environment.
Connecting the physical worksite
Data from electricity, water, fuel and lighting installations is collected by LoRaWAN-connected devices and transmitted via LoRaWAN gateways to Kheiron.
LoRaWAN is well suited to construction sites: it is wireless, covers long distances and runs for years on battery power. Meters and sensors can be installed where they are needed, without cabling or network infrastructure, and relocated when the site layout changes.
Giving installations a digital counterpart
Arcsom developed Digital Twin templates for the different types of installations.
A Digital Twin is a digital representation of a physical asset. It links the asset to its current data, making it possible to visualise consumption or status and use that information to trigger actions.
Once a type of installation has been configured, the same template can be reused to connect additional installations without rebuilding the platform from scratch.
Turning data into a clear overview
Within Kheiron, consumption graphs, maps and status information will give Galère a clear view of what is happening across its installations.
Users will no longer need to monitor every system separately. The information they need will be brought together and made accessible through the same digital environment.
Automating lighting control
Lighting can be controlled automatically based on:
- predefined schedules;
- presence detection;
- sunrise and sunset using an astronomical clock.
Buttons and presence detection can also trigger lighting actions within configured groups. This will reduce recurring manual intervention while giving Galère greater control over when and where lighting is used.
Detecting situations that require attention
Configurable thresholds make it possible to generate alarms when values move outside predefined limits.
These alarms will notify the relevant people, allowing them to focus on exceptions instead of continuously checking individual values.

The result
Today, more than 50 meters are connected across 16 Galère sites. In addition, a fleet of 48 LoRaWAN gateways, consisting of 15 indoor and 33 outdoor gateways, is connected, deployed in the field and ready to support further expansion.
By bringing this data together in one central environment, Galère reduces the need for manual follow-up and site visits, while giving its teams a clearer view across worksites.
Because the solution is based on reusable Digital Twin templates, expanding the system does not mean starting over. New meters and supported installations can be added to Kheiron in just a few steps.
This means Galère can roll out the same approach across additional sites without redesigning the underlying architecture for every new deployment.
